Other customers often search for these subcategories:

What does an e-bike cost?
What are the differences and which e-bike is right for you?
The first question that often arises when looking for the right e-bike is of course: Which one should it be and what best suits my usage pattern?
Choosing the right e-bike depends on various factors:- Purpose: Think about what you mainly want to use your e-bike for. Is it for daily commuting in the city or for longer tours in the countryside?
- Budget: E-bikes are available in different price ranges. Set yourself a budget that matches your financial means and look for models within this range.
- Riding style: Think about whether you prefer a sporty riding position or whether an upright riding position is more important to you. This will influence your choice between city and trekking e-bikes.
- Range: If you are planning longer journeys, the range of your e-bike is very important. Pay attention to the battery capacity and choose a larger battery if you want to cover longer distances.
Our customer service team is of course always on hand to help you choose the perfect e-bike. Our experts can answer all your questions and help you make the right decision.
Drive concepts of e-bikes
E-bikes have various drive concepts that have continued to evolve in the past. There are e-bikes with a front motor, rear motor or mid-motor. Our portfolio has clearly specialised in the mid-motor e-bike concept. This type of e-bike is characterised by its balanced riding style. In contrast to front and rear motor bikes, all standard wheels can be fitted thanks to the motor sitting on the frame.
E-bike batteries
The battery is the centrepiece of an e-bike. The capacity of the battery has a significant impact on the range of your e-bike. When choosing an E-bike, you should therefore pay particular attention to the battery capacity to ensure that it meets your range requirements. Larger batteries offer a longer range, but are often heavier. Smaller batteries start at 400 Wh capacity and larger ones often go from 600 Wh up to 750 Wh for city and trekking e-bikes. Here we are talking about ranges of up to 150 km. You can find more information on e-bike batteries in our guide.
Bosch or Shimano motor?
The motor is another crucial element of your e-bike. Bosch and Shimano are two of the best-known manufacturers of e-bike motors. Both brands offer reliable and powerful motors, but there are differences in terms of noise level, power and support levels. The choice between the two depends on your personal preferences and needs. You can find more information about the motors in our guide:
Mid-mounted motors offer a balanced weight distribution, while rear-mounted motors offer you more support when starting off and riding uphill. Front motors are low-maintenance and quiet. Compare the systems to choose the ideal one for your needs. You can also find more information on the drive types in our e-bike advisor.
What types of e-bike are there?
E-bikes are available in different types for different purposes.
City e-bikes are ideal for urban traffic. They tend to be lighter, manoeuvrable and offer you the opportunity to tackle everyday tasks or routes in the city.
Trekking e-bikes for longer journeys are usually more comfortably equipped and have a higher battery capacity. They offer you the opportunity to experience extensive tours on many types of trails (road, gravel, forest paths). Ranges of over 100 kilometres are not uncommon!
Folding e-bikes offer compactness and are ideal for commuting in the city. Thanks to their folding capability, they are the perfect companion for journeys that include bus and train. This means you can get to your destination quickly and comfortably at any time and leave the last mile behind you in a relaxed manner.
E-mountainbikes offer you complete freedom in forests and mountainous areas. With them, you can tackle any type of trail and reach almost any destination. Here too, however, there are significant differences depending on your requirements. E-MTB hardtails are more suitable for tours on unpaved paths and easy trails, while an E-MTB fully with front and rear suspension is recommended for tough and steep descents
.
Children's e-mountainbikes offer exactly these experiences for our little ones too. They offer children the opportunity to get to trails and destinations for which they are probably not yet fit enough. This means that all paths are open for (mountain bike) tours with parents.

Choosing the right frame shape
- Diamond frame: The diamond frame is the best-known frame shape. It has a high top tube, which ensures high stability. You have to swing your leg over the high top tube when getting on the bike.
- Trapezoidal frame:a trapezoidal frame is a frame shape with a lowered top tube. This ensures improved climbing and descending comfort.
- Wave frame: This frame shape is also known as a step-through frame. This is a frame without a top tube, which ensures maximum comfort when getting on and off the bike!
- Folding bike: The folding bike has a special frame shape because, as the name suggests, it can be folded up. This means that journeys by bus or train can easily be made by bike.
- Mountain bikes:the frame shapes of mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes are basically divided into 2 areas. The (e-)MTB fully or the (e-)MTB hardtail. While the fully is also equipped with rear suspension, this is not the case with the hardtail. In this case, the frame shape is usually a diamond frame.

Which e-bike manufacturers are the most popular?
There is a large selection of e-bike manufacturers. Some of the best-known and most popular brands in the e-bike industry are Hercules, Kalkhoff, Focus and our own brand LIQBike. Each manufacturer offers a wide range of models and options, so you are sure to find the right e-bike for your needs at STATERA.
However, before you decide on a manufacturer, you should consider what is important to you. Is it the brand that matters most to you? Or are certain features, such as battery performance or riding position, decisive? STATERA offers you a wide selection of e-bikes from different manufacturers so that you have the opportunity to compare models and choose the ideal e-bike for you.
How do you use an e-bike correctly? Do you need to pay attention to anything?
If you have found an e-bike and are now wondering what you need to be aware of when using it, there are a few differences to normal, muscle-powered bikes. E-bike motors and batteries are now very grateful in their use and are extremely durable. Nevertheless, there are a few things to bear in mind that can significantly extend the service life of your new e-bike.
Charge the battery gently
The service life of the battery depends on charging it correctly. Avoid deep discharging and store it at moderate temperatures for better performance. (In winter, it is best not to leave the battery in the garden shed or cold garage)
Proper care of the drive & co
Regular cleaning and inspection of the drive components and brakes extend the service life and ensure the performance of your e-bike.
Maintenance intervals & servicing e-bikes
Find out about recommended maintenance intervals and necessary services to ensure the safety and reliability of your e-bike.
The most popular motor manufacturers and models
Well-known manufacturers such as Bosch, Shimano, Brose and Panasonic offer powerful and reliable motors. All of these manufacturers operate in the same areas and have their top models, such as the Bosch Performance Line or the Shimano EP8. For light e-MTBs, there are motor specialists Fazua and TQ, among others. If you would like to find out more about the motors and their differences, please visit for our Motor guide.
